Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Ben, and I provide confidential, non-judgmental counselling and psychotherapy in a safe and supportive environment. We all experience difficulties in our lives, but these are often made worse by the ideas, assumptions and beliefs we hold about ourselves, other people, relationships, and life in general, which inform how we think, feel and behave. Most often we are unaware of these ideas, and so they go unchallenged, meaning that if they are unhelpful, we can find ourselves living in a way which causes pain and suffering. I work with people to lift the lid on these assumptions to examine their accuracy and usefulness, and in order to explore healthier and more realistic ways of viewing ourselves and the world, which can help us to lead happier and more fulfilling and satisfying lives. I believe that it is only through accepting our difficulties that we are able to work through and gain freedom from them. Above all, I believe in the importance of developing compassion for ourselves and others.
I provide counselling and psychotherapy on a short and long-term basis at the Awareness Centre in Tooting, London SW17 (please see below for details of the centre). I use Transactional Analysis (TA) counselling and psychotherapy to help people who are struggling with a range of difficulties to work through their suffering and make changes in their lives. I am a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in TA Psychotherapeutic Counselling (in TA training as a transactional analyst), and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
