Counselling is commonly shorter in duration, and often focuses on a specific issue such as bereavement or a difficult situation such as work-related stress. Psychotherapy is typically longer term and addresses deeper issues. However, the terms counselling and psychotherapy are often used interchangeably.
My regular fee is £55 per session for individuals and £65 per session for couples.
I see clients at the Awareness Centre, 74-80 Upper Tooting Road,
London SW17 7PB (please see map and contact details on the home page).
Sessions last for 50 minutes.
Sessions are weekly, and it is important that you attend each week unless you are unable, as regularity of contact is necessary for maintaining the working relationship and successfully working through your difficulties.
This depends entirely on you and the nature of the difficulty that you seek help with. Some issues and difficulties can be worked through in 6 -12 sessions, whilst others are deep-rooted and may take much longer to fully work through. You are free to end counselling at any time, although it is preferable not to end suddenly, and agree a timeframe for ending, in order to explore any feelings about the counselling and the ending of the relationship.
